Weekly Update
November 13, 2009
What a week it has been! I don’t know about you all, but it is a bit wiggy at my house with the mid week break. The kids in class seem to be fine, but it was a bit weird to stop and start again.
We are trying to finish up the last section of our Grocery Store Unit. Next week will be the last week. We will be going over types of food, corresponding colors of food, sorting, classification of food, and doing some activities where the kids have to give out “clues” using descriptive words for a type of food.
The week of Nov. 23rd will be super short due to T-day break beginning on that Wednesday. The kids will be working on some T-day crafts and we will have a small celebration at the end of the day on Tuesday, the 24th during the last 15 minutes decorating cupcakes to look like turkeys. Fell welcome to come early that day and help the kiddos with their turkeys. Anyone up for donating some cupcakes for that day? I need either chocolate or vanilla and no icing. We will do that in class. If I can get them on Monday, Nov. 23rd, I would like to put them in the freezer so they are hard enough for the kids to handle the icing job without puncturing the cupcake. Let me know and thanks.
Before the big photo change, I had originally taken Nov. 20th off. I made other plans and moved that date to Nov. 17th so I could be in class on the picture day. Meg Ballantyne will sub for me next week on Tuesday, 17th instead. I know the picture day is now moved to Dec. 8th, but I already rescheduled things, so it is better to stick with the Tuesday sub.
Thanks to you all for all of your kind thoughts, sweet words, and support during this difficult time of losing the 3’s program. Knowing that you all support me and will continue to be there in support helps make this change an exciting one. I will let you all know my plans for my new grade level as things become more concrete. Thanks so much.
The Grocery Store Unit Books will come home on Friday, Nov. 20th. Have fun looking at them with the kids.
I found my Camera!!!! Yeah! Look for pictures soon. Sorry it took so long. The room ate the camera for awhile.
We will move to the Pet Store Unit next. We will begin this unit on Monday, Nov. 30th. The room will change once more.
