Listed on this page are some PTA-organized “Free Fundraising” Partnerships – when families participate in these companies’ programs on behalf of Bill Roberts, we earn free funds that go directly to our school:
King Soopers Cards
Every middle school student has the opportunity to go on amazing field trips. Traditionally, 8thgraders go to Sea Camp in San Diego. To help fund these trips, families can simply use a King Soopers gift card when buying groceries and earn free money to apply toward the cost of the trip.
Simply purchase a special King Soopers gift card from the front office for $5 (pre-loaded with $5 to use at the store). Families add money onto the card at the King Soopers register before buying groceries and then use it to purchase groceries or gas at King Soopers stores. King Soopers then gives 5% back to the school.
Cards are linked to the oldest child in a family and the PTA tracks how much each family has earned toward their child’s Middle School trip. If a family earns more than is needed to pay for their older child’s trip, then the money rolls over to the next oldest child. Any extra money goes toward scholarships. For families who leave Bill Roberts, the money they have earned also goes toward scholarships.
The King Soopers cards are good at any Kroger store across the country and multiple cards can be linked to the same family, so you can purchase cards for family members outside of Colorado and let them help earn money for your child’s middle school field trips!
So, how does it work exactly?
Every time you load your card right before you buy your groceries, King Soopers donates 5% of the loaded amount to Bill Roberts and that amount is credited to your family account.
This is not 5% you are giving – this is a charitable contribution from King Soopers to benefit schools.
For example, if you spend $600 at King Soopers for groceries and gas per month, you will earn $30 per month towards your 8th grade trip. In three years, your trip will be paid for essentially by King Soopers! You can’t afford not to participate – this is free money!

Restaurant Nights and Third-Party Fundraisers
Support local businesses and the school at the same time! The PTA works with community businesses to organize “Restaurant Nights” or other store promotions where the business donates a portion of their sales back to the school. These events are posted on Facebook and in Thursday Notes. If your business is interested in hosting, please email firstname.lastname@example.org!
